Guide Dogs Victoria has committed to the development of a Regional Strategy to support better outcomes for people with blindness or low vision living in regional Victoria.

Your input will ensure the future of our services is shaped by a wide variety of views and experiences.


How can you participate?

Have your say as someone with low vision or blindness, a supporter, community member, or community health organisation in regional Victoria. We want to hear from everyone – you do not need to be a current Client, volunteer, referrer or partner of Guide Dogs to participate.

We have developed a survey to capture insights from different groups. This will help us to better understand experiences from people with low vision or blindness living regionally, and community perspectives – and will be used to inform the development of the Regional Strategy.

Guide Dogs is seeking Lived Experience Consultants who will be involved in co-designing our Regional Strategy by exploring key areas that Guide Dogs Victoria could address regionally. These positions will be reimbursed at an hourly rate.

We are looking for people with lived experience of low vision or blindness and live in regional Victoria. You do not need to be a current or former Client of Guide Dogs. You may also be a support person (for example, family member, friend or carer) of someone with low vision or blindness.

There are various levels of input and time commitment. This will include a one-hour interview and/or participation in a co-design workshop in October. Sessions will be virtual via teleconference.

You must be available to offer advice and thoughts to Guide Dogs and be comfortable discussing lived experience.
