    Who we are

Guide Dogs Victoria (GDV) is one of the state's oldest and best loved charities. We are committed to satisfying the mobility aspirations of people who are blind or vision impaired by offering high quality services that meet their needs, enhance their quality of life and assist in their achievement of independence, safety and confidence.

With less than nine per cent government funding, we rely heavily on the generosity of individuals, corporates and people who leave a bequest in their Will to enable us to continue to fund our vital work.

GDV is a proud member of the International Guide Dog Federation. In addition, our organisation is a Quality Endorsed Company.

All Client Services provided through GDV comply with the '9' Victorian Standards for Disability Services (1997) which are:

    1. Service Access
    2. Individual Needs
    3. Decision Making and Choice
    4. Privacy, Dignity and Confidentiality
    5. Participation and Integration
    6. Valued Status
    7. Complaints and Disputes
    8. Service Management
    9. Freedom from Abuse and Neglect
