You may have heard that a national low vision agency has restructured as a result of the current financial crisis and cut 130 jobs across the organisation. This is an unfortunate reality for a number of organisations across the world and we certainly feel for those retrenched.

Guide Dogs Victoria is a standalone organisation and would like to assure you that although we have been affected by the economic downturn, there will be no changes to any of the services provided to our clients. Guide Dogs Victoria has no plans to make any jobs redundant or reduce any of our vital training programs as a result of the economic climate.

Though our commitment remains strong, our fundraising is down this year and we will continue to need your support more than ever. I know that together, we can continue to provide the precious gift of freedom and independence to Victorians who are blind or vision impaired.
