Suggested Wording for a Will

Specimen form of words for inclusion in Wills:

1. If you decide to leave a specific sum of money (Pecuniary Legacy) to Guide Dogs Victoria:
   
   " I give the sum of $............ Free of all duties and testamentary expenses to Guide Dogs Victoria for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer of Guide Dogs Victoria shall be sufficient discharge to my executors for this bequest."
   
   
2. If you decide to leave Guide Dogs Victoria what remains of your estate or percentage thereof after any specific gifts have been distributed and any debts paid (Residuary Estate): " I give the rest and residue of my estate to Guide Dogs Victoria for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer of Guide Dogs Victoria shall be sufficient discharge to my executors for this bequest."

OR

" I give .........% of the residue of my estate to Guide Dogs Victoria for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer of Guide Dogs Victoria shall be sufficient discharge to my executors for this bequest."

Please remember to use our full name when drafting your Will - either our business name Guide Dogs Victoria or our registered name Guide Dog Association of Victoria. Both are legally correct. You may also consider including our address, Chandler Hwy, Kew, Victoria.
