Eye Health Information
If you have 6/6 vision or are not currently experiencing degrading vision loss, eye health is an important consideration to reduce the risk of vision loss later in life.
Regular eye examinations with an Optometrist are the best way to prevent vision loss, allowing the early detection (and treatment if application) of eye disease.
As part of Guide Dogs Victoria’s commitment to educate the community on vision loss and eye health, we are working to produce a page of tips and guidelines for eye care. These are currently in development and will be added to the web site soon.
Thank you for your patience.
HYBRID CARS
Guide Dogs Victoria provides a full range of mobility services to client who are blind and vision impaired of all ages in order to achieve safe, confident and independent mobility. The advent of silent or near silent vehicles in recent years, including hybrid electric cars and motorbikes is becoming increasingly prevalent in the community. Guide Dogs Victoria shares the concern of other relevant groups in the community that these vehicles increase the safety hazards already evident in pedestrian travel. Guide Dogs Victoria is committed to working together with these groups and the motor vehicle industry to highlight the safety issues for our clients of these hybrid cars and how it can be addressed for the greater good of the whole community.
