The Centre for Vision Independence offers services free of charge that can help people with vision impairment regain their independence, confidence and assist them to lead a full, active life.
The service provides impartial and well-researched advice to any person with vision impairment and to people with a range of disability needs. The Centre is staffed by experienced Orthoptists, Occupational Therapists and Orientation and Mobility Instructors.
The free services provided by the Centre for Vision Independence include:
• Information on a wide range of community services, including support groups
• Advice on accessing pension and / or concession entitlements
• Advice on transport options and information on recreation activities
• Referral to Counselling services, free of charge
• Information on eye conditions and living with vision loss
• Trial and sale of low vision aids and aids for daily living, at cost price
All discussions and reports remain confidential.

Opening hours 11am – 5pm Monday to Friday. No appointment necessary.
