Remembering Guide Dogs Victoria in your Will

The precious gift of freedom

Through a bequest to Guide Dogs Victoria you can provide a legacy with vision. A new life for someone - a life made more fulfilling through your generosity.

Have you made a Will?

Free Personal Will Profile

If you pass away without leaving a Will, you have no control over what happens to your estate. The people you really wanted to benefit may get less than you intended, or nothing at all.

When making a Will, we encourage you to share this important decision with your family and friends who will be affected.

While you are deciding where your money will go, we hope you consider leaving a gift to Guide Dogs Victoria. As a registered charity that receives minimal government funding, we rely entirely on support from the public to provide our services free of charge. Legacies are an extremely important source of funds that enable thousands of Victorians to have freedom and independence after vision loss.

Guide Dogs Victoria is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as an income exempt charitable entity and a deductible gift recipient. Contact us on (03) 9854 4444 for a copy of our brochure and free personal Will profile.

Ashley will never forget the generosity that gave her Guide Dog, EdgeSomeone will never forget you

By making a bequest to Guide Dogs Victoria - that is leaving a gift or legacy in your Will - you can really make a difference. You are helping us to provide a range of services and training to improve the quality of life and independence of blind and vision impaired Victorians. The breeding and training of Guide Dogs is a significant part of this vital activity. You may never meet the person whose life your kindness has changed, but they will never forget you.

Your bequest, however big or small, is greatly valued and is a significant help in our future planning.

Have you told us of your intentions to leave a bequest?

Did you know that 75% of the bequest income we receive comes from people we never realised were leaving us anything in their Will? We wish we had known them so we could have said thank you to them in their lifetime.

If you are considering a bequest to Guide Dogs Victoria, please let us know. By notifying us of your plans, we are able to discuss how your gift might be used to maximum benefit, forming a fitting memorial to your kindness. We would also like to thank you and present you with a special Guide Dog Bequest Pin. By making Guide Dogs Victoria a beneficiary in your Will, you will also be invited to join our supporters group, The OTUS Fellowship.

All bequests remain strictly confidential unless express permission is given to mention the planned gift.

Otus, former Stud DogThe OTUS Fellowship

The OTUS Fellowship is a supporters group for those that have left a bequest to Guide Dogs Victoria in their Will. We have chosen to name this group in honour of one of our champion stud dogs, Otus, a legend at Guide Dogs Victoria.

If you choose to join The OTUS Fellowship, you will join a like minded group of donors who, by planning a future gift in support of our services, will help us continue to achieve our aims in the years ahead. The OTUS Fellowship regularly holds lunches and special functions, allowing its members to see first hand the difference their gift will make.
