Matching a person and dog

At the time a person is accepted for Guide Dog training, we will seek the closest match with the Guide Dogs in the final stages of training. Each Guide Dog must complement their companion’s lifestyle, personality and mobility needs.

The average waiting time for a Guide Dog is four to six months but some clients may wait longer to ensure they receive the right dog to address their special needs.
