International Guide Dog Day, held this year on Wednesday, 28 April and celebrated all over Australia, is day where we can celebrate the important role that Guide Dogs play in helping blind and vision impaired Victorian’s achieve safe and independent travel.

How is International Guide Dog Day being celebrated in Victoria?

To help gain public awareness for these amazing animals, The Age and 3AW have kindly offered their assistance in sharing our message with the Victorian community.

Keep an eye out for our full page feature in The Age and tune in to the Denis Walter show on 3AW (693AM) between 12-4pm when Pat Panetta takes to the street on a blindfolded Guide Dog walk.  Guide Dogs Victoria would like to thank Fairfax for their support of International Guide Dog Day.

How can I support International Guide Dog Day?

Did you know there is no Government funding made available for the breeding, raising and training of Guide Dogs? You can show your support by making a tax deductible donation, helping a puppy on their journey to becoming a confident Guide Dog and changing the life of a Victorian with vision impairment.
